A QUEST FOR A BETTER FUTURE

Today is already 2 years and 2 months since my youngest daughter left us to be in Dublin, Republic of Ireland. As she is the youngest child, she ought to be treated with specials attention from everyone of us in the family. She also owned childhood history of "crying sicknees" or "sawan tangis", for about 1 year since she was born.

Saniatul Wada binti Johani was born on 10 Jun 1986, and started schooling in 1993 at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Melayu Subang, Selangor. During that year we were staying in a quarters of RRIM's Experimental Station in Sungai Buloh. From 1993 to 2001, we were moving around, from Selangor to Penang, back to Selangor and later to Johor and back again to Selangor and finally transferred again to Johor. This happened as I continued my study for a masters degree at UUM, during that time we were residing in Penang. In 1995, I had been transferred to several workplaces after came back from my 2 years study leave. So, my daughter took her PMR's examination when she studied at Sekolah Menengah Kampung Melayu in Subang. At that time we were staying again in a quarters in the RRIM's Station in Sungai Buloh.

My youngest child then continued her education at Maktab Rendah Sains Mara in Mersing, Johor. She scored 9A1s in her SPM examination in 2003 and continued her education at the Mara College in Banting, Selangor. At this college she took up a 2 years course for the Diploma in International Baccalaureate (IB) for Medicine sponsored by Mara under the "Skim Pelajar Cemerlang". This IB's diploma is a course which is conducted by an international body based in Geneva, Switzerland and recognised worldwide by most of the universities in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific countries. The Mara College Banting is recognised as one of the best IB's School in the world....

After successfully obtained a required good points in the IB diploma, Saniatul Wada was offered to do her medical course in Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland (RCSI). This 5-years medical course is a twinning program with Penang Medical College (PMC) which later conferring a Medical Bachelor and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). To be a medical doctor is also her ambition since childhood..... So, her "quest for a better future" began when she left us to Dublin, Ireland on 30th. September, 2006. She is coming back home in March 2009 to continue her clinical years at PMC until April 2011.

Assalammulaikum wr. wbr,

Joe, you are really inspiring.....nowdays I find it really hard to educate our children...but you have a few successful children whom you should be proud off. It is nothing else we as a parent want ...rather than seeing our children growing and having a successful life ..dunia and akhirat.....again congratulation..maybe I should learn some tips from u.....I like this photo very much..I like to call this photo ..."A Quest for a Better Future.".....send my regards to all of your family...wassalam.
